Grief in Progress is an audio-visual performance that reflects the unsettling emotional landscape of contemporary society. The work draws material from YouTube, live mixing images and sounds sourced from live-streamed war zones, archival news media, and the voices of individuals online. Using these fragments, Yamamoto live-composes an evolving soundscape, creating a raw and immediate reflection on the overwhelming flow of mediated grief in the current society connected through the internet.
